TseLin MA was born in Guangdong in 1960 and moved to Paris, France in 1985 to pursue his painting career. In the last decade, he has focused on the theme of traditional Chinese Buddhism. He believes that Buddhism has existed in China for thousands of years and has a unique and profound philosophy, and that Buddha images have an unparalleled oriental beauty. His brushstrokes highlight the portrayal of the Buddha’s skin in a unique way, with the Western painting community commenting that « the texture of a picture represents the whole painting and ultimately the spirit of that painting ».
